A LITTLE HISTORY…
It was once the most pleasant of the city. Its decline began in the Middle Ages, when wealthy residents moved to the west, to protect themselves from earthquakes. Then the fishermen and the poor settled there. In 1755, the buildings resisted the Lisbon earthquake.
Even though there is almost no Moorish home left, the district retains the atmosphere of Kasbah, with its narrow streets, stairs, laundry hanging from the windows.

Immersing ourselves in the culture of Alfama, freat fado and dinner@ chapito, good pasteis de nata@ Santo Antonio, quick walk to so many major sites- and getting lost was just part of the adventure, great dinner just around the corner@ Le petit Cafe(our waiter Sandro was so helpful). The apartment was perfct and the rain stopped long enough for us to enjoy the balcony. Thank you Daniel for your thorough introduction of the apartment.

We went on our first morning and it really got us our bearings in the city and we learnt about the history of Lisbon. A trip to Sintra is also a must! Although don’t walk up to the Pena palace unless you’re prepared for a hike. It took us an hour, a beautiful walk in Febreuary but not one for the height of summer. Our favourite retaurant of the week was Sacramento do Chiado, on the way to Bairro Alto. We had the monkfish and portugueses rice and the salmon and both were delicious.

Une première fois à Lisbonne pour 4 jours de découverte à la veille de la nouvelle année. Point de départ idéal pour vagabonder dans la ville et dans ses quartiers si différents. On a adoré visiter Belém et voir le coucher du soleil sur le Tage. Une see more

On a adoré visiter Belém et voir le coucher du soleil sur le Tage. Une vue changeante au gré de la météo du petit balcon est juste fort agréable. On reviendra ! This was our first trip to Lisbon, and we were lucky enough to find this apartment. Great location, waking up to a wonderful view of the river and the city itself is amazing, too. On top of it, we enjoyed 20ºC on November. If you have some time to spsee more
This was our first trip to Lisbon, and we were lucky enough to find this apartment. Great location, waking up to a wonderful view of the river and the city itself is amazing, too. On top of it, we enjoyed 20ºC on November. If you have some time to spare, do check out Sintra – we strongly recommend Portugal Tuk Tuk Guides (in front of the Sé Cathedral), ask from Hugo. We had a perfect stay here! The apartment is beautiful and there is an amazing view (especially the sunset). It’s walking distance from everything and there are roman ruins right just accross the street! Communication also went very well, thank you vsee more

Well, here we are, it’s October 3rd and the temperatures well over 30º! Thank heavens for this clever flat with its huge windows + rooms that open into each other to allow the breeze through. We’ve loved our stay and can add to the other recommendatisee more
Well, here we are, it’s October 3rd and the temperatures well over 30º! Thank heavens for this clever flat with its huge windows + rooms that open into each other to allow the breeze through. We’ve loved our stay and can add to the other recommendations the tiny unpretentious. A Baiuca, for the best Fado (sung by locals – including the cook if she’s in the mood…) Or join everyone from from students to the local policy chief for a noisy, cheerful lunch at Santa Rita: Excellent dishes at ridiculously good prices – turn left out of the door and it’s just down the street. C + C.

Well, I won't waste time repeating everyone else's points, except to confirm everything they say about this cleverly designed apartment. Apart, that is, from Carolina's - dear Lisbonne Collection, are you sure she came to this particular flat? Yes, there's not air conditioning, but the flat has balconies on both sides, with altogether five pairs of french windows opening onto them - and since the rooms can be opened right through, it is delightfully airy. A couple of electric fans deal with any day there's no wind: very few, since you are almost at the top of the hill. I'll only add, travel light and forget high heels. Really, don't pack them: the old town's streets are steep and cobbled, and lovely Lisbon is a city for walking. We'll be back.

Very nice apartment, confortable and plenty of room for 2 of us. We loved exploring Alfama and Belém and had a fantastic meat at Cevicheria in Bairro Alto. Really enjoyed our visits the Castle São Jorge, Miradouro de Senhora do Monte, and the Markt asee more
