A LITTLE HISTORY…
It was once the most pleasant of the city. Its decline began in the Middle Ages, when wealthy residents moved to the west, to protect themselves from earthquakes. Then the fishermen and the poor settled there. In 1755, the buildings resisted the Lisbon earthquake.
Even though there is almost no Moorish home left, the district retains the atmosphere of Kasbah, with its narrow streets, stairs, laundry hanging from the windows.

We liked almost everything except as we grow older an elevator would be appreciated. However, we don’t travel to Portugal to be coddled. We can always use the exercise which is normal for most of the Portuguese!

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful apartment. This was our first time in Lisbon and it won't be out last. The apartment still had the charm of an older unit witsee more
Beautiful place with a river view in a great location of Afalma
My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful apartment. This was our first time in Lisbon and it won't be out last. The apartment still had the charm of an older unit with an d and modern kitchen and bathroom. Very high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows with balconies on both ends, with a view of the river. I would stay there again without hesitation! |

We recommend getting Carristicket , the first day, it’s cheap and you can use all electrico, buses, trains and metro to go to all the far and close places. The panoramic views from Pena Palace and the walk in Boca do Inferno are breathtaking. Everyone in Lisbon has to try Pasteis de Nata from Pasteis de Bélem. Pro Tip: Get extra the first round, we loved them s omuch we had to go back for seconds…. And thirds… Another pro tip: Wear sneakers! Your feet will thank you! We have to say that Marta was a delight – she gave amazing suggestions for local restaurants and must see sights. Overall, Lisbonn is beautiful and this apartment was a home away from home! Our 2nd trip to Lisboa: 2019 – 2 weeks Our 3rd trip to Lisboa: 2022 – 3 weeks All with Lisbonne Collection! NEED TO SAY MORE??? Loved the apartment and the neighbourhood. My wife and I actually enjoy walking the hills – great exercise. Recommendations: Break & Check point are equally great for the breakfast. Break has more options but Checkpoint has pastries. To the right and around the right corner, you will find Rio Coura – outstanding grilled sole. Our only problem was that they don’t take credit card. Up the hill in the left Le Petit Café. I’m certain everything is great, but can recommend the mozzarella salad, octopus’ salad, veggie lasagne and the pastas. If you want a better wine than what is on the menu, just ask to the lady. Also up the hill on the left, go to the first street on the left and look for the green Jaguar Hotel Santiago – highly recommended , nice breakfast and wonderful 5 o’clock drink place. The SPA services are top and reasonable. Be vigilant. My wife had her perse stolen in the bar!!! Make a left out of the apartment, go down the hill past the part on the right, continue half way down the block to Santa Rita on the right. Outstanding, super seafood rice 5 stars. Continue the same direction until you reach the little square. The place on the left is Camons for the sandwiches. Take a taxi to Belem, cheaper than train. PONTO FINAL – don’t be a stupid tourist, get reservations! Catarina can help with this. Take a ferry to Almada, near Cais do Sodré, get off and walk along the river on the right. 5 minutes will plop you down Ponto Final. You will want an outside table (not for children), if sardines are in the season order them! Have a great time! We always do! John John’s Island USA |

Take a tuktuk ride to the highest view on the 7th hill. It’s beautiful.
Go to a nice market on TuesdaySaturday at Feira da Ladra. We also did one see more

Castle a must we went late afternoon and wasn’t particularly busy.
Cascais a lovely day trip and the train really easy. Walking the Alfama area at night has a lovely happy vibe, music and sangria everywhere.

We went on our first morning and it really got us our bearings in the city and we learnt about the history of Lisbon. A trip to Sintra is also a must! Although don’t walk up to the Pena palace unless you’re prepared for a hike. It took us an hour, a beautiful walk in Febreuary but not one for the height of summer. Our favourite retaurant of the week was Sacramento do Chiado, on the way to Bairro Alto. We had the monkfish and portugueses rice and the salmon and both were delicious.

We had a perfect stay here! The apartment is beautiful and there is an amazing view (especially the sunset). It’s walking distance from everything and there are roman ruins right just accross the street! Communication also went very well, thank you vsee more

Well, here we are, it’s October 3rd and the temperatures well over 30º! Thank heavens for this clever flat with its huge windows + rooms that open into each other to allow the breeze through. We’ve loved our stay and can add to the other recommendatisee more
Well, here we are, it’s October 3rd and the temperatures well over 30º! Thank heavens for this clever flat with its huge windows + rooms that open into each other to allow the breeze through. We’ve loved our stay and can add to the other recommendations the tiny unpretentious. A Baiuca, for the best Fado (sung by locals – including the cook if she’s in the mood…) Or join everyone from from students to the local policy chief for a noisy, cheerful lunch at Santa Rita: Excellent dishes at ridiculously good prices – turn left out of the door and it’s just down the street. C + C.

Well, I won't waste time repeating everyone else's points, except to confirm everything they say about this cleverly designed apartment. Apart, that is, from Carolina's - dear Lisbonne Collection, are you sure she came to this particular flat? Yes, there's not air conditioning, but the flat has balconies on both sides, with altogether five pairs of french windows opening onto them - and since the rooms can be opened right through, it is delightfully airy. A couple of electric fans deal with any day there's no wind: very few, since you are almost at the top of the hill. I'll only add, travel light and forget high heels. Really, don't pack them: the old town's streets are steep and cobbled, and lovely Lisbon is a city for walking. We'll be back.

Very nice apartment, confortable and plenty of room for 2 of us. We loved exploring Alfama and Belém and had a fantastic meat at Cevicheria in Bairro Alto. Really enjoyed our visits the Castle São Jorge, Miradouro de Senhora do Monte, and the Markt asee more
